Shihan Noel Cain


The senior school instructor at the Southwest Academy of Kyokushinkai Karate, Noel Cain from Chicago, Illinois, has been studying, training and practicing the Martial Arts for over 30 years. Currently ranked Godan (5th Dan) Black Belt and Shihan, in traditional Kyokushin Karate-Do.

Cain-sensei firsted started practicing boxing over 30 years ago, then commencing her journey in the Martial arts with American freestyle kickboxing, which she practiced for over 5 years, then finally moving to Kyokushin Karate in 1999, under Hanshi Gregory T. Johnson, at the Southwest Academy of Kyokushinkai Karate.

Cain-sensei has been teaching the Martial Arts since 2002. She is Hanshi Johnson's 1st female black belt, and his only female student to be promoted to Godan, and she is Hanshi Johnson's active senior student.

Cain-sensei has taught at many clinics and seminars throughout the USA, and she has competed in many karate tournaments in kata and kumite, winning and placing highly in many of these events.

The Southwest Academy of Kyokushinkai Karate is the oldest karate school in the Chicagoland area, based at Palos Hills, and has been in business for over 52 years. Cain-sensei teaches children and adult classes on Fridays from 6:45pm and 7.45 pm, and on Saturdays 11:00am to Noon and Noon to 1:00pm.

Today Cain-sensei enjoys sharing her experience in the Martial Arts gained in over 30 years of training, in passing on this knowledge to her students. Cain-sensei is a very dedicated Martial Artist, always placing others before herself. She continues to be an active student of Hanshi Johnson and completes her own personal training on a daily basis.
